Hello! My name is Mehtab, and I am an international student from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. I am a pianist, music teacher, and graduate student. I have completed a Master's degree in Music Performance in the United States and am planning to continue my education in Canada in Fall 2027.

I have been living with an American host family for more than two years, so I am very comfortable with the experience of living with a host family and becoming part of a household. I truly value the family environment and enjoy learning about different cultures while also sharing my own culture and experiences.

I am a very responsible, respectful, friendly, and organized person. I would describe myself as a strong Type A personality. I genuinely enjoy cleaning, organizing, planning, and keeping my surroundings neat and comfortable. I am also quiet and considerate and always respect house rules, privacy, and personal space.

I am currently looking for a host family in Alberta for approximately one year while I continue my education. Finding an affordable and welcoming host family is very important for me because accommodation in Canada is expensive, and I need to have a realistic and affordable housing arrangement before I can commit to applying to my intended school.

Returning to my home country is unfortunately not a safe or realistic option for me because of my minority background and personal circumstances. For this reason, finding a safe, stable, and welcoming home in Canada is especially important to me as I continue my education and build my future.

I would be happy to participate in family activities, share meals, help with reasonable household tasks, and contribute positively to the household. I would love to have a genuine cultural exchange and hopefully become part of the family rather than simply renting a room.

I am also very happy to meet with a potential host family through Zoom before making any arrangements. I would love to introduce myself, answer any questions you may have, and share more about my background, my studies, and my personality. I would also be happy to learn more about your family and your expectations.
